Splotter Con 2025 Devil's Egg Tournament
General Rules & Prize Distribution
We are excited to be continuing our Devil’s Egg Tournament in 2025. Due to a lack of interest, we decided not to launch a dedicated The Great Zimbabwe Tournament this year. Below are some general guidance for all contests and tournaments.
- As part of your Con Swag Bag, you will receive a Player Aid where you can track your contest & tournament progress.
- All prizes will be distributed at our Wrap Up event on Monday at 11:00 AM (or once the Devil’s Egg Tournament Final is finished).
- Only one prize per attendee (however, if you win multiple contests/tournaments, you can select your highest placement in order to receive an earlier prize).
- We won’t know how many donations we will have available for prizes until closer to the con. It is possible we won’t have enough for every attendee this year.
- You must be present to pick up your prize. This is to encourage folks to stick around for the entire con.
- The prizes will be on display the entire weekend so please determine a handful of items you’d like if you win a prize. Because in order to move things along swiftly, each prize winner will be asked to select a prize immediately upon being called.
- Prize Distribution Order:
- Before we distribute prizes from our sponsors, we will select the winner of the Path of the Polder Pioneer context who will receive a complimentary badge to Splotter Con 2026.
- Starting with 1st Place Winners, we will alternate in the following order:
- 1) Devil’s Egg Tournament > 2) Milestones > 3) Game Guru > 4) Spelgids > 5) Bus Driver
- This will continue for the 2nd & 3rd place winners in all 5 events.
- Only 1) Devil’s Egg Tournament > 2) Milestones > 3) Spelgids will receive 4th Place prizes.
- Finally, we will recognize all remaining Spelgids
- If we are able to secure enough prizes for all attendees, we will then continue rewarding players in descending order of Milestones games played.
Devil's Egg Tournament Rules
As part of your Con Swag Bag, you will receive a Player Aid. Find the Devil’s Egg tracking sheet inside.
- You only score points for games that you win!
- We encourage everyone to keep track of all qualified wins as ya never know.
- The six games included in the 2025 tournament are: Antiquity, Bus, Food Chain Magnate (original or Ketchup), The Great Zimbabwe, Indonesia, and Roads & Boats.
- Up to three wins per title can be counted during preliminary rounds.
- After each game you win, record the tournament points earned (using the table below) and the day of your game on your tournament sheet.
- Points are rewarded to the winner of each game only: 1000 points per win plus 100 per player. Indonesia will receive an additional 200 points due to length of games. See points table below. Only the player counts listed for each game will score.
- At the end of each day, add your daily points total to the Tournament Scoreboard.
- Cutoff: Your points must be added to the Tournament Scorecard by Sunday @ 9PM. We will sum all of your points across the three days.
- The 4 players with the most points at the end of Sunday night will meet in a final showdown on Monday at 9:00 AM. The game played will be Bus.
- If 5 players qualify due to a tie, the final game will be 5-player Bus (with special rules).
- If we have more than 5 tied players, we’ll select the 4-5 players with the most Bus wins during the preliminary rounds. If there is still a tie, we will go to The Great Zimbabwe wins for second tiebreaker.
- The players’ moves during this final match will be live broadcast on onlineboardgamers.com, and will be available afterward to review.
- Strategy advice to other players during the final match is prohibited. Non-strategy table talk is permissible. This rule does not apply to preliminary games.
- 1st place winner will receive the 2025 Devil’s Egg Trophy and will have first pick of prizes donated by our generous sponsors
