Splotter Con 2025 Contests
General Rules & Prize Distribution
We are excited to be continuing our Milestones Contest in 2025, and even more thrilled to be launching two additional contests. Below is some general guidance for all contests and tournaments.
- As part of your Con Swag Bag, you will receive a Player Aid where you can track your contest & tournament progress.
- All prizes will be distributed at our Wrap Up event on Monday at 11:00 AM (or once the Devil’s Egg Tournament Final is finished).
- Only one prize per attendee (however, if you win multiple contests/tournaments, you can select your highest placement in order to receive an earlier prize).
- We won’t know how many donations we will have available for prizes until closer to the con. It is possible we won’t have enough for every attendee this year.
- You must be present to pick up your prize. This is to encourage folks to stick around for the entire con.
- The prizes will be on display the entire weekend so please determine a handful of items you’d like if you win a prize. Because in order to move things along swiftly, each prize winner will be asked to select a prize immediately upon being called.
- Prize Distribution Order:
- Before we distribute prizes from our sponsors, we will select the winner of the Path of the Polder Pioneer context who will receive a complimentary badge to Splotter Con 2026.
- Starting with 1st Place Winners, we will alternate in the following order:
- 1) Devil’s Egg Tournament > 2) Milestones > 3) Game Guru > 4) Spelgids > 5) Bus Driver
- This will continue for the 2nd & 3rd place winners in all 5 events.
- Only 1) Devil’s Egg Tournament > 2) Milestones > 3) Spelgids will receive 4th Place prizes.
- Finally, we will recognize all remaining Spelgids
- If we are able to secure enough prizes for all attendees, we will then continue rewarding players in descending order of Milestones games played.
Milestones Contest (most unique Splotters played)
Turn to the Milestones section within your Player Aid where you will see graphics of all 20 Splotter releases plus Pandemic: Rising Tide (which was co-designed by Jeroen).
- The first time you play each Splotter game during the con, find a volunteer to stamp your Player Aid.
- Attendees with the most Splotter stamps will receive a prize to be selected in descending order. See the General Rules & Prize Distribution section above for the order of prize distribution.
- Tie Breaker: There is a list of 11 games that influenced or inspired Jeroen and Joris at the bottom of the Milestones section. Folks with the same stamp quantity will use the number of these games played as tiebreakers. Check them off as you play each.
- 2025 change: Ketchup has been removed. Either FCM or Ketchup count for FCM.
Spelgids Contest (most Splotter teaches)
Turn to the Spelgids section inside your Player Aid where you see a list of all 21 Splotters and an empty line next to each.
- Every time you teach a Splotter game, request one of our con volunteers to stamp next to the respective game.
- Splotter Con Spelgid (game guide): If you manage to teach any single game 5 or more times, you will achieve this higher status, and will receive a sticker to affix to your badge letting everyone know that you are an expert at this game.
- You may earn Spelgid stickers for multiple games.
- The 3 attendees with the most overall teaches and everyone that has earned at least one Spelgid sticker will receive a prize. See the General Rules & Prize Distribution section above for the order of prize distribution.
Bus Driver Contest (most unique players)
Turn to the Bus Driver section inside your Player Aid.
- Every time you play a game (not just Splotters), add your competitors’ names to your list.
- Only list an individual once i.e. if you play with someone multiple times, they only count as one.
- The 3 attendees who played against the most different players will receive a prize. See the General Rules & Prize Distribution section above for the order of prize distribution.
Path of the Polder Pioneer (checklist)
Turn to the Path of the Polder Pioneer section inside your Player Aid where you’ll find a checklist of activities to accomplish during the convention.
- Every time you complete an item on the checklist, request one of our con volunteers to initial next to it.
- Everyone who checks off at least 10 of the 15 items, will have their name entered in a drawing to win a free Splotter Con 2026 badge.
- Check off all 15 & receive 5 entries!
